There at the beginning …

Our journey with Inevidesk began as early supporters of the service during its development stages. We participated in beta-testing, pushing the core software to its limits to ensure a seamless experience for architects who rely on graphic and processor-intensive tools such as Revit, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Enscape, and many others.  

 

We tested our usual workflows against the new environment and let our hearts out if we were unhappy with either the performance or the logic of certain manipulations over the remote desktop. Alternative to BIM 360 

Autodesk stands as a dominant force in our architectural field and adopting 'Revit' as the primary platform for BIM production is virtually unavoidable, especially in the current landscape. While Revit inherently fosters collaboration, it does not address the challenge of working on the same project across multiple physical locations. This is both cumbersome and costly since it involved the utilisation of a dedicated Revit Server, a solution characterised by its complexity and outdated nature. This approach posed deployment difficulties and was inherently single-purpose, bordering on archaic in the modern architectural context. 

 

BIM 360, on the other hand, emerged as a brilliant solution, residing in the cloud and alleviating the constraints of physical co-location. It elevated collaborative efforts by enabling seamless multi-disciplinary collaboration across geographically dispersed teams. However, like many Autodesk products, the drawback lay in its cost, which could be a significant financial burden for architectural firms. BIM 360 also did not cater for the wider demands of the sector, the use of other software and wider data management.
